Remove crank bolt or nut by turning counter-clockwise. If no bolt is visible, remove dust caps. Some caps pry out and some thread out.

I have reused them many many times I have never had a problem. Put a little blue loctite on it if you are worried about it.

Are crank bolts reverse threaded?

Crank bolts are normal R hand thread for both. Although Campy's built-in bolt/extractor that came with its C-Record cranks were both left threaded into the arms. so if you remove them and want to use normal bolts, you need a unique Campy L hand threaded crank puller.

Are crank arm bolts reverse threaded?

Remember, the left pedal spindle is reverse threaded. Turn it clockwise to remove the pedal when facing the crank arm. The right side is normal, so turn it anti-clockwise to loosen it.
